I Went Cycling Again… but to Karura Forest

I always love going to Karura for walks, hiking and cycling. I also once went there for a wedding. This past Saturday, a group of us left town for Karura for a whole day of cycling. It was an amazing experience. The weather was perfect – cold and chilly. We cycled for about 24 kilometers – in 6 hours.

We started at the Gate C, Kiambu Road and made our way through the forest trails. We got lost a couple of times but came across a hidden gem; the Ruaka Falls, at the Wangari Grove.
I have been to Karura many times but I always go to the other waterfall. This is a bit wider but scenic and surrounded by bamboos. It’s a perfect spot for picnic or just sit an soak in the beauty.
We took a break at the Lily Lake before making our way to Gate C to end our cycling adventure – at 4pm.
