I Went Cycling

Bicycle resting on a tree trump.

I learned to cycle in an hour. One evening my cousin came over with a bicycle (a black mamba). I woke up early the next morning and gave it a try. I fell twice but I learned to hop, balance and pedal by the time I returned home. I have loved riding a bicycle ever since. There’s an unexplainable joy that comes with cycling. The freedom it gives you. Occasionally, I go to cycle and this is what I did at the beginning of this month.

I belong to a small but growing community of people, Qwani, who love the outdoors (hiking and cycling). It was my first time to go to KEFRI. The experience of riding our bicycles through the forest, the hills, scenic routes in a group of 40 riders is magical. The joy and laughter. The encouragement. The sharing of snacks. We started at 9.30 and cycled until 4PM, with breaks in between to rejuvenate and soak in the beautiful scenery.
